APRIL applies stringent quality controls to produce world-class products from both pulp and paper mills. In February 2000, both APRIL pulp and paper mills were awarded ISO 9002 for their quality management.

The ISO 14001 Environmental Management System provides the framework for managing the environmental aspects of the forestry operations, thereby minimizing the impact on the environment. It also equips the organization with the tools necessary to prevent pollution and to comply with the laws and regulations relevant to the business.

The forestry division achieved ISO 14001 EMS certification in 2001, while the APRIL Group - Riau complex comprising pulp, paper, and energy companies were certified in 2002.
