This
commitment means operating in a responsible manner which takes into account
local, national and global environment issues. At a basic level, this concern
for the environment is reflected by APRIL's "No Burn" policy whereby APRIL
does not burn forest to clear land. This policy was established in 1994,
three years before the Indonesian Government ban on the use of fire during
land preparation.
On
an operational level, APRIL measures its environmental performance according
to international standards and world's best practice.
