Bey Soo Khiang was appointed Vice Chairman of the RGE Group of companies in March 2011.
A former aviation executive and distinguished defence leader, Mr Bey oversees critical matters on business sustainability across the four key business groups within RGE Group. He is also Chairman of APRIL Group and actively guides APRIL Group’s operations in Indonesia on matters relating to fibre plantations.
Mr Bey previously spent 11 years in Singapore Airlines (SIA), holding various senior positions including Chairman of SIA Cargo Pte Ltd, Chairman of Silkair Pte Ltd, Chairman of Singapore Flying College, as well as at Virgin Atlantic Limited. A former Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) overseas scholar, Mr Bey was Singapore’s Chief of Defence Force from 1995-2000.
Mr Bey holds a Masters in Arts (Engineering) from University of Cambridge and a Masters in Public Administration from Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University. He has also attended the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.
Mr. Devanesan is the Vice Chairman of APRIL Group, responsible for the company’s impressive growth over a mere 13 years of operations. Guided by the triple-bottom line approach and a strategy of continuing improvement, his main challenge is to lead a multicultural workforce of over 20,000 employees towards APRIL Group’s vision of becoming one of the largest, best managed, most profitable and sustainable pulp and paper companies in the world that is preferred by both its suppliers and employees.
His career of 30 years is marked by 23 years of senior appointments in RGM International and its affiliates, Indorayon and PEC-Tech. Key accomplishments include the greenfield construction of APRIL Group’s pulp and paper mills in Riau, Indonesia, as well as a paper mill in Changshu and Pulp Mill at Rizhao, China. APRIL Group’s pulp mill in Rizhao is the world’s largest single pulp mills and regarded by industry leaders as world-class.
Mr. Devanesan was Chief Operating Officer of RGM International’s e-Business Initiative and PEC-Tech Group’s Vice President & Technical Director responsible for managing the construction of APRIL Group’s assets. He holds a Bachelor of Technology Degree in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology and is a Fellow of the Wharton Business School, University of Pennsylvania. He is also an active member of professional organizations in the engineering and pulp and paper industries.
Praveen Singhavi is the President and board member at APRIL Group, part of Singapore-based RGE Group. Mr Singhavi is responsible for all of APRIL Group’s business activities, including leadership of a team of 5,400 employees. His role includes oversight of operations that include 480,000 hectares of sustainable forest plantation, managed by APRIL Group on the Indonesian island of Sumatra. Under Mr Singhavi, APRIL Group introduced its Sustainable Forest Management Policy in 2014, setting an industry standard for environmental responsibility in the timber products sector.
Mr Singhavi is a senior business leader with 18 years of management experience which include serving as APRIL Group’s Chief Financial Officer before becoming its President. Prior to joining RGE, he held senior roles in country management, regional financial management and financial and business control functions for leading global companies in the commodities and manufacturing sectors. These included Singapore-based Olam International and Reliance Industries of Mumbai.
Mr Singhavi holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati University, Ajmer, India. He is a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and a Chartered Secretary from the Institute of Company Secretaries of India.

Dr Ibrahim Hasan joined PT. Riau Andalan Pulp and Paper (RAPP), a subsidiary of APRIL, in 2002 and brings with him decades of management experience in the natural resources sector. Aside from his position as President Commissioner of PT. RAPP, he is also Board Member of the Tanoto Foundation.
Dr Hasan holds three qualifications from the University of California, Berkeley: Ph.D in Economics, MA in Economics and an M.Sc in Electrical Engineering. He obtained his B.Sc degree in Electrical Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
Tony Wenas is currently President Director of PT. Riau Andalan Pulp & Paper (RAPP), a subsidiary of APRIL.
Prior to Riau Andalan Pulp & Paper, Mr. Wenas held several top executive positions in major mining companies, including Chief Executive Officer of PT Vale Indonesia, Director and Executive Vice-President of PT Freeport Indonesia as well as Country Head of Intrepid Mines, Ltd.
Currently a board member of the Indonesian Mining Association, he is also chairman of the Australia, New Zealand and Timor Leste committee, chairman of Permanent Committee Coordinator Association of Agriculture, Aquaculture and Forestry, both at the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KADIN).
He obtained his Business Law degree from the University of Indonesia and completed the Sloan School of Management executive program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
