ELECTRICITY CONSUMED BY MILL AREA
The above diagram shows the total energy consumed by production process during the 2013-2014 reporting period. Pulp production consumes 57%* while around 2% of the power we generate is sold to the local grid.
We are well within BAT range while we continue to seek ways to reduce heat consumption. Low-pressure steam is a byproduct of electricity generation. We conserve the additional energy present in this steam by using it to dry pulp and paper. Following condensation, water is sent back to our power station where it is reheated into high pressure steam and recycled through our system.
