APRIL Group’s management consists of deeply experienced and diverse individuals with background in every aspect of the company’s operations including forestry, pulp and paper, finance, social science, governance, legal, international trade, logistics, regulatory and human resources. APRIL has one woman - the company’s Director of Sustainability and External Affairs - on its leadership team, as of May 2021.

Bey Soo Khiang was appointed Vice Chairman of the RGE Group of companies in March 2011.

A former aviation executive and distinguished defence leader, Mr Bey oversees critical matters on business sustainability across the four key business groups within RGE Group. He is also Chairman of APRIL Group and actively guides APRIL Group’s operations in Indonesia on matters relating to fibre plantations.

Mr Bey previously spent 11 years in Singapore Airlines (SIA), holding various senior positions including Chairman of SIA Cargo Pte Ltd, Chairman of Silkair Pte Ltd, Chairman of Singapore Flying College, as well as at Virgin Atlantic Limited. A former Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) overseas scholar, Mr Bey was Singapore’s Chief of Defence Force from 1995-2000.

Mr Bey holds a Masters in Arts (Engineering) from University of Cambridge and a Masters in Public Administration from Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University. He has also attended the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.

Mr Wang Bo has been appointed as the President of APRIL Group since January 2023. He succeeds Mr Praveen Singhavi, who will take on the role of President of Bracell.

As President, he oversees APRIL Group's entire business operations, including state-of-the-art production facilities in Riau Province, in Sumatra, Indonesia and provides leadership to more than 8,500 employees. He is also responsible for ensuring the execution of APRIL's sustainability agendas, including its APRIL2030 commitments to deliver positive impacts on climate, nature and people.

Mr Wang Bo joined the RGE Group of companies in 1997. He brings over 25 years of progressive experience in the industry, occupying senior management and executive positions in various companies in the Group. His experience includes serving as Fibre Group Project Head of Bracell and Director of Asia Symbol.

Before joining APRIL Group, he was instrumental in growing the RGE fibre business in China and its successful expansion in Brazil. Mr Wang Bo has a wealth of experience, leading teams and significant growth projects across the RGE Group of companies and a deep knowledge and understanding of the fibre sector.

He holds a Bachelor's degree in Pulp and Paper Technology from the Nanjing University of China.

Sihol Parulian Aritonang was appointed President Director of PT Riau Andalan Pulp & Paper in April 2018. He joined from independent philanthropic organisation, Tanoto Foundation. Before joining Tanoto Foundation in 2009, he was the Assistant Country Director at CARE International (Indonesia), an international humanitarian and development NGO. Previously, before entering the development and philanthropy sector, he worked for 10 years in the capital markets and financial sectors in Indonesia. Mr. Aritonang’s passion for education has led him to serve as a lecturer at Universitas Indonesia for more than 30 years. He received his Master of Business Administration from the University of Hawaii in Manoa, Hawaii, in 1993 and his Bachelor's Degree in economics from Universitas Indonesia in 1990.

Eduward Ginting joined RGE group in 1994. He started his career as a process operator and subsequently rotated across several different functions in in pulp and paper operations. He also spent six years in technical marketing, with a strong focus on customer service and engagement. His exceptional service and leadership over a period of more than 20 years resulted in his appointment as Chief Operations Officer (COO) of PT Riau Andalan Pulp and Paper, the operating arm of APRIL group. As COO, he oversees all pulp, paper and rayon production at the company’s operations in Kerinci, in Riau, Indonesia. He holds a Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from the University of Riau, Indonesia, and a Master's degree in Pulp and Paper Technology from the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden.

Lucita Jasmin is the Director for Sustainability & External Affairs at APRIL Group, where she leads the advancement and implementation of APRIL’s sustainability commitments, policy and programmes, including stakeholder engagement and communications. Lucita has a global base of expertise in strategic and corporate communications in the intergovernmental and private sectors. She has led intercultural teams that provided communications counsel to senior management, strategized and executed campaigns and advocacy initiatives, organized stakeholder outreach on priority sustainability issues, and mobilized partners to provide support. Prior to her current post, Lucita served at the United Nations Environment Programme headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya where she led strategy development, planning and execution of global communication programmes and campaigns, focused on resource efficiency and sustainable consumption and production.

Mark Werren is the Fiber Director for our APRIL/RAPP operations in Kerinci, Indonesia. He holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Forestry from the University of Aberdeen, and a Master of Science in Forestry from the University of Helsinki. Mark has been working as a professional forester since 1980, predominantly in the tropics, with resident responsibilities in Tanzania, Vietnam, Indonesia, Australia, Finland and Scotland. He has also conducted numerous short-term work assignments in other countries. Mark's strength is in general management of large-scale tropical plantation operations implementation, including budget preparation and achievement, modern central tree nursery design and management, plantation technology transfer, applied research, operations improvement, and sustainable development and communications. Mark has been contributing to the development of pulpwood plantations in Indonesia since 1988.

Wanyan Shaohua is the Head of Paper Business at APRIL Group, where he is responsible for the financial management and overall operation of the paper business. Prior to joining APRIL, Shaohua served at Asia Symbol as Marketing Head and member of the management committee, where he oversaw the commercial operation of the Group’s pulp and paper business in China.

With over 15 years’ experience in forestry and the pulp and paper industry, he also held various senior positions in APRIL and Asia Symbol in the areas of strategic planning, merger and acquisitions, and sales and marketing. Prior to his industrial experience, he was a business researcher at the National University of Singapore and INSEAD, and has published over a dozen research papers. He holds a Masters of Science (Business Policy) from the National University of Singapore, and frequently speaks at forestry and pulp and paper industrial conferences.

Sanjay Tanwani is the Finance Director of APRIL Group where he is responsible for the overall finance function of the business. Sanjay holds an MBA from IMD Business School (Switzerland), a Masters in Commerce from Delhi University and a CA qualification from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He joined RGE in 2019 and, prior to joining APRIL, was Chief Financial Officer of the group’s agri business for four years.

Sanjay has over 25 years of experience in senior leadership roles across finance and commercial functions in the food, agriculture and chemical industries in Asia, Africa and Europe. His expertise spans a range of areas, including finance, accounting, futures, hedges, derivatives, consolidation, and direct and indirect taxation. He also has extensive experience in managing trade risks based on factors such as price, basis, counter party, customer and supplier credit, and foreign exchange risk. Over the course of his career, he has managed various stakeholder relationships, from key suppliers and customers, to banks and financial institutions, government representatives, industry associations, statutory auditors and consultants.
