With an updated target to expand solar capacity to 50 MW by 2030, APRIL strengthens our commitment to renewable energy

APRIL continues to expand our goals in acquiring energy from clean and renewable sources. We began exploring solar energy in 2021, installing 1 MW of solar panel capacity. In 2024 that has grown to 26.3 MW of energy, allowing APRIL to double our 2030 solar capacity target from 25 MW to 50 MW.

We are also introducing solar energy at our plantation estates. The first trial took place at the Pelalawan estate in 2023, with a 0.5 MW installation. This helped reduce diesel consumption by 40%. Based on these promising results, APRIL continues to expand solar energy to 23 of our 33 estates. This expansion is part of APRIL’s larger goal to cut emissions intensity by 25% by 2030, while also supporting Indonesia’s government targets.
