Latest news, updates and information on APRIL Group

APRIL Group brought its dedication to sustainability and forestry innovation to the global stage at Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan. This city, renowned for its rich cultural heritage and industrial prowess, hosted the Expo as a collaborative platform to address global challenges under the theme "Designing Future Society for Our Lives."

As part of Indonesia's participation in the Indonesia Pavilion, APRIL was prominently featured in the Rolling Exhibition from June 2–7. This showcase highlighted Indonesia's commitment and achievements toward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Indonesia's presence at Expo 2025 underscored its vision of inclusive and sustainable growth, with companies like APRIL embodying the nation's forward-thinking approach to environmental stewardship, innovation, and community development.

During its week-long display, APRIL presented an engaging, interactive journey of its sustainable value chain. Visitors could trace the path from fast-growing, renewable acacia plantations to finished paper and packaging products. This storytelling approach demonstrated how sustainably managed plantations are crucial for producing everyday essentials, from printing paper to eco-friendly packaging.

The display garnered significant interest from international visitors, many of whom were unfamiliar with the paper-making process and the vital role of renewable resources. The acacia seedlings particularly sparked curiosity due to their rapid growth and sustainability benefits, showcasing how a single source can be transformed into both paper and fabric.

Visitors were especially impressed by the environmental credentials of APRIL’s operations. These include:

  • Sustainable fibre sourcing through responsible forest management.
  • The use of renewable energy in production processes.
  • Robust forest conservation efforts under APRIL’s 1-for-1 commitment, where one hectare of conservation forest is maintained for every hectare of plantation.

These initiatives are deeply rooted in APRIL’s long-standing Sustainable Forest Management Policy (SFMP 2.0) and support its ambitious APRIL2030 targets to deliver positive impact for climate, nature, and people.

Beyond forestry, APRIL’s flagship brand, PaperOne, was also featured. Globally recognised for its premium quality and sustainable attributes, PaperOne is already familiar to many Japanese consumers with a presence in over 110 countries. This further solidified APRIL’s position as a responsible and globally trusted brand.

APRIL’s participation at Expo 2025 Osaka reinforced its commitment to transparency, innovation, and sustainability on the global stage. We are proud to represent Indonesia and to demonstrate how responsible forestry can contribute to building a better future for generations to come.
